About Us

Welcome to the Shaker Lakes Garden Club Website!  We are so glad you have come to browse.  Here is a little information about our non-profit organization.  Shaker Lakes Garden Club was founded in 1915 and is one of the clubs within the Garden Club of America (GCA).  All 125 Active members, 20 Associate Members and 8 Provisional Members share a common interest in horticulture, conservation, flower arranging and garden design. We have several divisions with our garden club and we invite you to click on all of them to get to know us better.  We are constantly changing and updating our material.  We hope you find our website educational, interesting and entertaining,  So, sit back and enjoy!

President Beth Boles, November 2002

History  The Shaker Lakes Garden Club was founded in 1915 as Shaker Lakes Civic and Garden Association.  Its initial goal was to preserve the natural area along the eastern end of Doan Brook including two Shaker Lakes.  This property was donated by John D. Rockefeller to the City of Cleveland.  Read more about the history of the club by clicking here or on the History button on the left hand side of this page.

Officers and Committees  The Club is operated by a slate of Trustees, Officers and Committee persons, a list of which can be viewed by clicking here or on the "Officers and Committees" link on the left side of this page.
