Thanks from Our Neighboring Garden Clubs

Dear Ladies,

On behalf of the Garden Club of Cleveland, thank you for a wonderful Joint Meeting last Tuesday. I received so many notes of appreciation from our members commenting on the flowers, the food and of course, the speaker George Shackleford. He was engaging, entertaining and had a wonderful story about Monet’s changing approaches to his garden paintings.

Thank you for putting together such a fantastic afternoon. It was a highlight of our year!

All the best,

Laura (Laura Fulton Pinnick)

Dear Mary Bruce and Members of Shaker Lakes Garden Club,

Thank you for your invitation and hospitality this past Thursday at George Shackleford's talk and presentation on Monet and more! Everyone I talked to from Akron Garden Club thoroughly enjoyed the program and of course the luncheon (and dessert!) were divine! The blue arrangements and plates were striking and fit your theme perfectly.

We enjoyed spending the afternoon with new and old acquaintances from our garden club friends to the north!

Gratefully,

Teresa Good, Akron Garden Club

Natura Insects

From Robin Schachat: A friend forwarded to me recently an article about a new and different kind of botanical art: the use of parts and pieces of fresh floral materials to create portraits of insects. The artist is a gentleman from Montreal named Raku Inoue, and he is very creative. Here is an example of his work, and you can see more if you click here.
Maybe this would make for a fun workshop for the club one day?
