President's Letter June 2020

Dear Friends,

My vegetable seedlings, lovingly started in March, are ready to plant. The containers await filling with beautiful flowers and herbs. And, the weeds are poking up from the earth as fast as they can. Before I head outdoors, I would like to thank you. Being a member of Shaker Lakes Garden Club, and being your president for two years, has been a joy. I treasure so many moments spent with you: our wonderful stimulating monthly meetings, our trips to fascinating and stunning gardens, and our fabulous autumn flower show, to name a few. During this era of social distancing, it is lovely to recall and savor the better days of being in your company.

Like you, I value the support of our Board. Their creative ideas and timely solutions allow our organization to prosper. We benefit from their wise counsel. I give you all my heartfelt thanks, and I look forward to a future of being with you once again.

 Meanwhile, the garden beckons…
