Reminder: From Plastic to Perfection

Margaret Wilson, our Zone X Chair for Floral Design, will teach us some principles of floral design. The format for the afternoon:

1. Participants bring $20 of flowers from their local/favorite grocery store.
2. Participants bring a glass container for the flowers - tall vase, low bowl, any shape that is not too big or not too small would work. Michaels and Dollar Store have lots of inexpensive vases.  
3. I will bring sticks, vines, and extra leaves for simple creation of a structure to place over the vase, and perhaps to line the vase.
4. Topics to cover:

a. deconstructing a grocery store packet of flowers- sorting the material by line, focal point, and filler material, conditioning the material
b. creating a structure to support the design (NO OASIS)
c. design techniques covered - sheltering, layering, etc.
