Topic: “A Glimpse into Indian Weddings”

A Blend of Traditional and Contemporary Floral Design 
Fusing U.S., Ikebana, and Indian Culture

Isa Ranganathan, our own Shaker Lakes Garden Club member, is the owner of Isa’s Touch-Floral Design. She was to be a speaker at one of our in-person membership meetings, talking mainly about her work for the Indian families desiring a more traditional Indian wedding. It was agreed that this could be postponed to another time. However, thanks to perseverance by the Garden Club of Michigan, she did create a virtual PowerPoint program.  Following a successful presentation to their members, she felt comfortable offering it to us. What could be better than a vibrant, colorful slide show talking about Indian weddings!  With a little encouragement, she might be willing to share images of her western wedding designs, including her daughter’s wedding that took place in a barn in Maine.
