The Science Behind the Search for New Varieties of Annuals
Betsy Kollman Bresky
It will be a great pleasure to welcome Betsy Kollman Bresky, speaking about her work with Four Star Greenhouse, Inc. (member of Proven Winners*) in Carleton, Michigan. During her 8 years’ employment, she traveled all over the world and the United States in search of and evaluating plants to be released under the Proven Winners* brand. A recipient of funds from The Garden Club of America Katherine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture, Betsy pursued an education in horticulture, eventually earning an MS degree from Cornell University with a minor in plant breeding.
In 2015 Betsy and her husband Derek moved back to Ohio to take over the ownership of Kollman’s Greenhouse from her parents. They specialize in bringing in new, unique plants while still carrying the standard items.
