Dear Friends,

I hope you’ve all read the January Zone X Newsletter that was recently sent. There’s a lot happening (always!) in Zone X and nationally so please do spend some time reading it.

Here are highlights and additional information you’ll find helpful.

  • GCA Annual Meeting, May 22-24, Columbus, Ohio

We need volunteers for the Annual Meeting, May 22-24 in Columbus! There will be a sign-up page sometime in mid-Feb on the GCA website for those who want to volunteer. I am hoping for at least 15-20+ SLGC members to volunteer for this great event. This will be the first ‘normal’ annual meeting since Covid and 550 delegates from across the US are anticipated to attend. We need to do our part as a Zone X club and give this our all!

  • For the Annual Meeting Flower Show:

Please consider registering and entering Class 33, Edible flowers grown from seed and Class 34, Garden peas grown from seed. The flower show schedule has all the info you need and links to register. I will be happy to transport your entries if you are not planning to volunteer in person in Columbus.

  • The February 21 board meeting:

It will begin with coffee at 9 am, business meeting at 9:30 am at the home of Sarah Morgan, 2992 Fontenay Rd, Shaker Hts.

  • We WILL have a member’s meeting on March 28 beginning at 10 am!

It will be a book discussion on Braiding Sweetgrass, by Robin Wall Kimmerer. Thank you, Betsy Stueber, for hosting.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the next membership meeting on February 28 at Orange Library! See information in the next post.
