Holidays at the Cleveland Botanical Garden

The Cleveland Botanical Garden has reinvented its holiday season decor this year with the theme of FROST: An Ice-Capped Garden Experience. There are a dozen winter magic-themed rooms like Blizzard Ballroom and Jingle Jungle. The indoor and outdoor gardens are being transformed with towering ice arches, dazzling light installations, a tunnel of flowers, larger-than-life animals, more than 500 poinsettias, seasonal soundscapes, and of course, trees, wreaths and centerpieces from over 35 Garden Clubs.
We chose the whimsical theme, Elf on the Shelf, to decorate the SLGC tree which is located in the back right corner of the Garden Room. Look for the vivid red, green and white decorations amidst the hilarious antics of two dozen elves. The Provisionals spent over 80 volunteer hours in planning, producing and decorating the tree! The homemade decorations include large colorful bows. felt elf hats and boots, spray painted alliums, hydrangeas and wooden snowflakes, and painted paper plate peppermints wrapped in cellophane! The elf scenes will engage all young attendees! Look for elves ‘zip-lining down from the ceiling to the tree’, ‘doing the floss’, ‘being stuck in a bottle again’, ‘chewing gum fun’, and more!
The event is open from November 18 through December 31. It is a perfect family event over the holidays!
