GCA 2023 Annual Meeting

Zone X can be very proud of the success of the 2023 GCA Annual Meeting, held in Columbus, Ohio May 23 -24. More than 550 garden club members from around the country gathered for two full days of meetings, meals and workshops, but also tours, a fun boutique, and a beautiful flower show.
Shaker Lakes GC’s very own Cynthia Druckenbrod presented a workshop, “Wild Plants and Creative Cocktails,” that was so popular a second session was added! Many of our members participated in a variety of ways including volunteering at the meeting and entering the Flower Show. Lynn Lehmann and Lisa Mortimer chaired the important GCA Annual Meeting Scarf fulfillment committee, a crucial fundraiser for the event.
In addition to an amazing Awards Luncheon, honoring ten GCA medalists and three new Honorary members, highlights included the Scholarship speaker, Andy Sell, a 2015 Katherine M. Grosscup Scholarships in Horticulture winner.
