Need an Updated Copy of the Directory?
As Leigh mentioned in the last newsletter, the printer of the Directory made several errors and reprinted 70 corrected copies for us. If you would like one, contact Leigh and she will bring it to a meeting for you.
Help SLGC with your Holiday Shopping
Last year SLGC received $52.77 from Amazon because some of you signed us up as a recipient of donations on Amazon Smile. It is not a lot of money but if EVERYone who uses Amazon did it, it would be a nice donation. It only takes a moment to do so. Call Treasurer Suzy Hartford at 216/835-0363 if you want/need help doing so.

A Suggestion from Leigh:
Uprooted, by Page Dickey. Timber Press, 2020
I loved this book, and I bought another copy to give away so I wouldn’t have to part with it. Many of you will remember Page Dickey’s presentation at a Joint Meeting a number of years ago. She has written for fine magazines and her books include another favorite of mine, Dogs in Their Gardens.
After 34 years creating and enjoying Duck Hill, her 3 acre garden in Westchester, she and her husband “downsized” to a 200 year-old house on 17 acres in Falls Village, Connecticut. Uprooted is much more than a book about gardening. There is plenty of informal advice, hundreds of specific plant names for the serious gardeners, and prize-worthy photographs. But it is above all a book about making changes – from the cultivated to the wild, from formal control to let-it-be, and about learning to live differently indoors and out. Page Dickey’s humor and humanity – and love of dogs – shines through on every page. Five stars!
